Michael Bussard with the NRA’s American Rifleman magazine states: As the first book of its kind to cover the history and variations of the Belgian Browning pistols, this work presents a technical overview of the pistols as well as a fascinating glimpse of Fabrique Nationale itself from 1889 to 1949. Consulting a wide variety of sources, the author was able to piece together the manufacturing and marketing puzzle of FN Browning Pistol models 1899, 1900, 1903, 1910, 1922 and the renowned 1935 Hi Power through two world wars and 43 years of peace. Such history is inextricably tied to personalities and the author does not disappoint with chapters on John Browning, Val Browning, Dieudonne Saive and others. There are also chapters on the Canadian Inglis Hi Power and the Swedish Husqvarna model 1907 pistols. The FN Browning story remains an important part of the history of modern firearms. The author has made the story interesting as well as technically correct.
